Our Fees

We recognise that every case is different and requires an individual approach. For that reason, we decide our fees on a case by case basis.

We will be open and honest with you about our fees. We almost always deal with cases on a fixed fee basis, so you will know exactly what and when you have to pay. We do however have a fee structure that will give you a good idea about how much your case will likely cost. This is detailed below and you can click on each case for more information.

Your initial call is always free so please call 0333 016 3333 today. There is no obligation and we might even be able to answer any simple queries that you have.

Appeal Revocation of LicenceClick for more information

We can advise you about and then appeal the decision to revoke your driving licence on medical grounds. This can be done in two ways; a letter of representations to the DVLA or, if that is rejected, an appeal to the Magistrates Court. There is an additional fee for the appeal to the Magistrates Court, which is charged per hearing (usually only one is required).

Guilty Plea (no, or low, risk of disqualification and/or imprisonment) Click for more information

We can advise you on the evidence prior to Court and then represent you at Court to ensure that your side is put across in expert fashion. This may help in reducing the sentence and/or penalty points imposed.

Guilty Plea (risk of disqualification and/or imprisonment) – Click for more information

When the stakes are higher, the level of work required tends to be higher. If you have found yourself in a position where you are facing the prospect of being banned from the road or even going to prison, we can help.

Category 6 Case

Exceptional Hardship Argument – Click for more information

If you receive 12 or more points on your licence, you will be disqualified from driving for at least 6 months. You can only avoid this if you can show Exceptional Hardship would be caused, which is not easy to do. We can help prepare your argument and then put it forward at court to give you the best chance at staying on the road.

Category 7 Case

Not Guilty Plea, Newton Hearing or Special Reasons – Click for more information

If you are not guilty of an offence, you need expert representation to put forward your defence. We can prepare your case for trial and represent you during it. This also applies if your level of guilt needs to be decided at a Newton Hearing, or if you wish to put forward Special Reasons as to why you should not be disqualified or receive penalty points.

£36 Admin Fee

Mileage will be charged at 0.54p per mile (including VAT) and the total cost will be dependant on the distance travelled. This figure will be agreed beforehand. We cannot estimate any other disbursements; they will vary on the specific type. The majority of disbursements will also incur VAT.

We cannot provide you with an estimated timescale without knowing more about your individual case but in general terms:

  • We anticipate the majority of Guilty Plea and Exceptional Hardship matters to conclude in one hearing.
  • A Contested matter will usually have a timescale of at least 8 weeks and involve a minimum of two hearings.

We will be in a better position to discuss likely timescales once we know more about your case and can happily discuss this with you prior to any fee being agreed.

The fees above provide the likely fixed-fee in those types of cases. The actual fee may vary and is dependant on the specific nature of the case. The fee will always be agreed beforehand and no ‘hidden charges’ will be imposed. Variables include:

1. Location of the Court
2. Disbursements
3. Unusual amount of preparation expected (other than ordinarily expected)
4. Number of witnesses to speak with (character or fact)
5. Volume of prosecution evidence
6. Number of charges or incidents
7. Need for site visit
8. Status and experience of advocate

As they are fixed fees, there will be an agreed limitation on the work that will be carried out. Once this limitation is reached, no further work will be carried out. Limitation will be set out clearly in writing on all cases.

The Admin Fee cover the associated costs of opening a case file, carrying out conflict checks and general administrative tasks.

Legal Aid for driving offences

Legal Aid is only available for some areas of Motoring Law. We do hold a Criminal Legal Aid contract meaning that we are authorised to apply for legal aid on your behalf and conduct legal aid work. Legal Aid is free for everyone being interviewed by the police. In respect of court proceedings, you will only receive legal aid if:

  • You are on low income (usually less than £239 per week gross)
  • The Legal Aid Agency deem it in the ‘interests of justice’ to receive it.

You can call one of our team today to discuss this further on 0333 016 3333.
