Tom Oates

Tom Oates is a Partner of Bhatia Best and the Head of our Motoring Law Team.

Tom studied law and obtained his degree at Nottingham Trent University, before completing his Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School in 2005. He qualified as a solicitor in 2009 at Bhatia Best and quickly rose through the ranks, moving over and heading up the firm’s Mansfield office in 2014. He was made an Associate in the firm and then progressed to being made Partner in August 2016. Since then, he has returned to our head office in Nottingham to head up our Motoring Law team and also plays a key role in the general running of the overall firm.

Tom will often be the first point of contact for Clients. His expertise in Motoring Law and highly praised client care allows him to quickly establish the best way to proceed for the individual client. With a wide range of expertise and personalities available within his Team, Tom will carefully identify the best person for any particular case.

Tom understands that Police investigations or Court proceedings can be a worrying and difficult time. He prides himself in being a calming influence and allowing clients to see the key issues in their case. After having an initial discussion with Tom, clients will feel more at ease and clear about the way forward.

As a keen driver himself and someone that relies on his vehicle for his employment and care for his child, Tom recognises the impact that losing their licence would have on a Client. With the assistance of his Team, Tom will ensure that everything is done to avoid that in cases where it is a risk.

Tom supervises all of our Motoring Law cases and ensures that the highest quality of work and advice is being undertaken. Readily available over the phone or via e-mail, usually at any time of the day or night, Clients of Tom will soon realise that they have someone who cares about their case and wants the process to be as stress-free as possible.

If you have a Motoring Law issue that you need assistance with, start by giving Tom a call. We have no doubt that by the end of that call you will feel more at ease than you did before it.
